Cutthorpe is a small picturesque village with superb views over Chesterfield, which is about 3 miles south-east. It spreads along 3 miles of the B6050 to the east of and is close to the Peak District National Park. There are 3 pubs, a village school, recreation ground with a cricket square and village institute plus the Linacre Reservoirs with beautiful bluebell woods and surrounding walks. An annual festival is held over the 2nd weekend in July together with the traditional well dressing ceremony. News in Brief  See more detailed news on the News and Events page Mrs Rita Braban We are sorry to report the passing of Rita Braban who lived in the village for 50 years. She was cook in charge at Cutthorpe Primary School during the 80s and her 2 sons were pupils at the school.The funeral is to be held at the Chesterfield crematorium on Tuesday 22nd May at 12.10 pm. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to the school. Her son Philip Braban can be contacted at aprotile@yahoo.com  Three Merry Lads Now open! Come in and see how the refurbishment went.

There is interest from within these groups in the potential of forming a village charity whose purpose is to promote the interests of those living in the village. We’d like to hear your views - see more details on the News page A steering group has been created to get the charity set up started.
