Cutthorpe is a small picturesque village with superb views over Chesterfield, which is about 3 miles south-east. It spreads along 3 miles of the B6050 to the east of and is close to the Peak District National Park. There are 3 pubs, a village school, recreation ground with a cricket square, the Village Institute plus the Linacre Reservoirs with beautiful bluebell woods and surrounding walks. An annual festival is held over the 2nd weekend in July together with the traditional well dressing ceremony. News in Brief See more detail on the items below News and Events page Find us on Facebook Cutthorpe Village Coronavirus & Community NHS Clap + Dance and Singalong - we’ve added to the NHS clap on Thursday 8.00 pm with a singalong - join in the fun! Music will be playing from The Three Merry Lads so more of the village can hear it - this week (21 May) it will be “Is This the Way to Amarillo” by Tony Christie. if you can’t hear it why not put your own music on? Cutthorpe Festival 2020 Due to restrictions imposed relative to coronavirus, the Trustees of Cutthorpe Matters Charity have unfortunately had to take the decision to cancel this year’s Cutthorpe Festival which was due to be held on 10th / 11th July. The Well Dressing and Scarecrow competitions are also cancelled. We are however hopeful that we may be able to hold a much smaller community get together on the weekend of 15th/16th August, that will coincide with VJ Day, further details will be provided in the June village newsletter and here on the the village website, so please look out for further details! VE Day Celebrations We had a great time in the beautiful weather on VE Day, some photos of the event are on our 2020 Gallery. Support in Cutthorpe A group has been set up in Cutthorpe to support those isolated or struggling to cope. A Facebook page chat group (Cutthorpe Chat) has been set up which you can follow, or you can call volunteer helpers. See the News page for more information. A leaflet has been distributed to all residents listing local traders offering deliveries and collections of a range of groceries. A copy of this leaflet can be downloaded here - thanks to everyone who contributed. PLEASE NOTE the Ibbotsons phone number is incorrect in the distributed leaflet. The link above has been corrected. North East Derbyshire District Council have a webpage outlining what they are doing during this outbreak, including food boxes and food donations - NED Covid-19 information Remember Green bins are no longer being collected.
